Sophisticated fashionistas all over the world have been spotted wearing luxe bikinis and bohemian chic cover ups from ViX since designer Paula Hermanny stepped onto the swim scene in 1998.
Growing up in the small beach town of Vitoria in Brazil, Paula Hermanny spent most of her days as a young girl in her swimsuit. As a young adult, her love of travel brought her to San Diego to study English, where she was able to still enjoy the beach life. Seeing a void in the US market for chic, fashion forward swimwear, Hermanny decided to pursue her design dreams - focusing on stylish yet functional suits for women of all ages. ViX, whose name is a derivative of her hometown Vitoria, was thus started, with a small capsule collection of brazilian-cut bikinis.
When designing the collection each season, Paula travels around the world in search of the most beautiful beach destinations for inspiration for new accessories and prints. Whether it be elaborate embroidery, glamorous gems, luxurious leather or simple gold rings the handmade feel of each detail adds the perfect finishing touch to each suit. The characteristic of the ViX fit and style is in the fabric, soft to the touch and integral in the flawless fit of each piece.
ViX has since evolved into a global lifestyle brand of swim and resort-wear including bikinis, one-pieces, caftans, and dresses for the resort, spring, and summer seasons. With the huge success of the ViX collection, Paula has been able to branch out into other categories, having now launched Sofia by ViX, a whimsical and flirty line for the teen market, and Hermanny by ViX, a sophisticated and simple collection for women wanting more coverage and support.
